Christ's EMPTY burial shroud, shown as tightly bound about the body with a SEPARATE head binding. Wall mural from Panagia Phorbiotissa Asinou, Nikitari. Cyprus, 14th century AD. The second picture, below shows the Angel announcing Christ's resurrection from the tomb (cf. p.62. Gilbert Thurlow. All Color Book of Biblical Myths and Mysteries. London. Octopus Books. 1974)

By contrast, note the Turin Burial Shroud of Christ, which shows NO evidence of bindings or a separate head binding.

Also of interest, Archaeology has revealed that the first century AD Jews did not place bodies in Sarcophagai (stone coffins). They laid the BOUND body on a ledge within the burial chamber. After decay, the bones were then placed in a small stone box called an OSSUARY, if the family could afford such a luxury. Obviously the 14th century AD Greek artist was unaware of these early Jewish practices.
