Canaanite Prince seated on a Cherubim throne (winged sphinx) from an ivory found at Megiddo ca. 1200 BCE. John Romer, an Egyptologist, sees this throne as possessing Egyptianizing features. Mainstream secular bible scholars see this throne as similar to the Mercy Seat atop the Ark of the Covenant.
