Ink sketch of an Egyptian Prince, with royal hair lock (the sere), holding a "feather of power" and a lotus. Egyptian myth made Pharaoh the living representative of Horus the Hawk god who was assimilated to the Sun (the sun being frequently shown with hawk's wings). The lotus in some myths was the giant flower that gave birth to the sun each day. The lotus in his hand, then, suggests he will have a long reign, just as the Sun reigns for all eternity as Horus.
As Moses is portrayed in the Bible as a "prince of Egypt," the below illustration suggests how he would have looked.
